Are you a jerk?

A few days, Pingle asked to list some synonyms of the word "idiot". Some people put "jerk" there. I don't think it appropriate.

I understand that a jerk is kind of person who has diffilties in following the rule of ettiquete. For instance, a perk may play jokes on a wrong person, at a wrong time, and in an unacceptable manner. Of course, a jerk may bring unpleasant feelings to others. But a jerk is by no means an idiot.
