Jabber's English Note

Eventually, an English learner should get rid of the habit of translating from their mother tongue into English. Instead, they will learn to simulate other English users. Look at the following examples:

1) We honor all of our competitors' coupons.
2) We will not honor your check unless you endorsed.
3) If your check cannot be honored, a $25 of financial charge will be imposed on your account.

If we use an English-Chinese dictionary, we may know "to honor a check". Unless we are really immersed in an English environment, we probably don't know that a competitor's coupon can also be honored.
