I do not know what kind of professional engineering job you are doing right now. I am myself a skilled trades person. I can make 100K a year easily. Some of my co-workers, they can make 100K in 9 months. There are not too many qualified skilled trades labor in Canada as whole. There is really a market demand for skilled trades labor. Besides, it really takes five or six years hands-on working expereinces to get a license in skilled trades field. There are more skilled trades person making over 100K than most professional engineer do. That's the fact. If you are really a top-notch engineer in your field or you really want to be, you will make more money than us in the years to come. But not for now anyway.
