Not too many people could connect a president candidate to an old African rural woman, and now it happens. The old woman is the 86 years of grandmother of Obama—the hot candidate of American president, a possible black president in American’s history.
This African woman raised her son from her husband’s 2nd wife since the first day of her marriage. This son is Obama’s biological father, an ambitious boy who had committed to change his fate from a poor village in a poor African country Kenya.
He fought to get education and won the opportunity to study abroad ----in USA. There ,he met his wife ,a white American girl .She brought Obama into the world, though 2 years later they divorced. However Obama was left with his mother in America, with the possible education in a developed country.
His father passed away in an accident when he was 21 years, and 13 years later, a cancer took his mother’s life. Then, the old African grandmother became the only relative left in his father’s family. In 1987, the first time Obama met his grandmother in her village. From his grandmother’s mouth, he heard all kinds of stories about his father which he could have never known about. The old grandmother praised her grandson as “a good listener”.
In 2006, Obama visited his grandmother again, at that time he was already a senator of Illinoisan .The grandmother took him as the proud of the whole village. After he declared to run for the Presidential Campaign in 2007, his grandmother started to collect the news paper which had any news about her grandson.
As a rural woman who has never gone to school for a single day, she would listen to the radio at midnight, from where there is a name connected to her, who could be the most powerful person in the most powerful country in the world.
Sooner or later, the answer will be only one, yes or no, however, it really doesn’t matter. As the grandma has said, “It is enough since he has tried his best.” And I do believe nothing is impossible.
