Just some examples:

There are tons of applications supported in company. Your IT department should have a kind of IT Assets database to list all hardware, software properties. From there, you should be able to know who is the champion for which, and he or she will be the next destination for you to consult.

There maybe sort of KnowledgeBase, Troubleshooting, Bug Logging, Helpdesk systems, in company. Those are valuable resources for new comers, or even for veterans to lookup legacy experience.

Not to mention coding standard, project docs, design reviews, email libraries, company portals, etc. You should check all resources as possible as you can, before asking a trivial question that may have an easy answer.

Communication with your next level supervisor is very important. If you do need some information, or have any doubt about any process or procedure, and you don't feel satisfied with teammates' responses, ask supervisor for clarify, or take one step further, schedule meeting to pin the issue on the whiteboard.

If you don't take those necessary steps and just blame around, that is void and waste.
