Now some politicians in the US begin another wishful thinking: we still own most of the Fortune 500 companies even though these companies make most of their profits overseas. The problem is that these companies no longer consider themselves American companies or Japanese companies, they now consider themselves 'global' companies, and they pay their taxes and salaries to China and India and other developing countries. When this happens, they are American companies by names only.
