I will dress in formal;
as to order and pay, it depends on the type of store; if it's like Tim Hortons type, he will pay as he orders; if like a Cafe Mirage type, you could just order a cup of coffee (i.e. cappuccino) or order nothing if you don't want, you could ask him if he would like something to eat, but I don't think so. you could offer to pay for both, at least pay for yourself, but if he insists to cover you, then accept it and thanks. not a big deal.
