MS will probably buy RIM to get those valuable Blackberry customers, and later buy some successful online giants like YouTube/Facebook/MySpace to gain support from broader 3rd party developer community.

Buying software in box will soon be outmoded. Customers are now buying software by downloading executables and subscribing support by paying annual license lease and service fee. SOA industry standards give them assurance that MS products will not be the only choice to deliver what they need.

Promoting XBOX is just a pilot effort, MS now is peering at Apple's success on i-pod and i-phone, and will move aggressively with its full muscle into consumer product market.

Google is working very hard on its whole product line strategy to persuade people that it is not a mere online search tool vendor, it can offer full category of business solutions.

Like high-quality toys are designed here in Western countries and manufactured in China, Software Application is designed here as well, and code will be produced in India.
