Intermediate Software Development needed in the GTA immediately. This position is focused on Java.

In this position you will work under the general direction of a Project Manager and you will be reporting directly to the Manager of Merchandising Systems Development. The key area of your responsibility will be
development and maintenance of merchandising systems and supporting applications. You will be responsible
for the deployment, development and support of new and existing system solutions including databank application development and enhancements

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, maintain and improve applications by evaluating business needs, analyzing requirements and developing systems in accordance with IT standards.
2. Deploy and support systems based on the 3rd party solutions.
3. Provide support by ensuring stability of the application and resolving the issues in a timely manner.
4. Must adhere to project deadlines and deliver quality programs.
5. Review and evaluate capabilities of existing systems and processes and determine if requested changes are possible.
6. Conduct unit and system testing.
7. Provide reference material by writing and maintaining online help and user training documents.
8. Review and provide status on the “health” of the application.

Qualifications:
· Post secondary education in Computers in, Business or related field

· 2+ years hands-on experience in a 3 tier Client/Server environment, with Unix/Linux, Java/J2EE, Visual Basic 6

· Oracle 8i, 9i (10g), as well as Crystal Reports 10.X/XI

· Experience in deployment and administration of 3rd party applications

· Effective communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills a well as dedication to detail

· Exposure or previous experience in corporate brand product development, merchandising or retail systems.
