it is normally one Registered nurse for one patient, if we are short of nurses, then we use agency RNs, if still short, then some nurses take 2 stable patients. I personally feel it is not busy most of the time.
Also the ICU nurse run for the code blue. I am working now and just attended a code blue in the medical floor. It was not bad, 20 mins resusitation, patient maybe was already dead for a while before we went to save her. Sad, but that's life.
